And he's alive!!! We put him in the cage and went ahead and brought him into the house for at least the night. As soon as we put him in front of the feeder in the coop(while getting everything ready to bring him inside) the silkie roo jumped on top of him and attacked him, so I think that is why he is so skinny. The rest of the chickens can tell that he is special needs and are picking on him. (??)

I have to go to school, so my husband is going to feed him oatmeal, and I've found some yogurt that is good, and I think there will be just enough to do him some good. I'll have him cook an egg for him also. I will get the poly visol tonight after class. I'll update everyone later on tonight.

He was on our neighbors property underneath the cedar tree. He's doing good right now; eating and drinking. YAAAY!!!!

His poop is already solidifying!! So was it just a case of the other chickens starving him out of food and water because he's blind? Or is there still something more to his symptoms? thanks for the help, all.

It is very possible that he is at the bottom of the pecking order and they were just not letting him eat. He may need his own little pen.

I agree with Barnyard. It very well could be that they are keeping him from the feed. Poor little tacker! Is there any way you could make a small, confined area for him? If so, please do so. Once he's confident in the new area, I would TRY putting in someone else who is at the bottom of the pecking order. They might be fine with him, especially if there were only the two; they'd only have each other, and thus may not fight. But I think that first, it would be a good idea to leave him in, get his strength up for several days or even a week or so. GOOD LUCK and keep us posted!

Thanks for your replies! My husband is going to build him his own pen within the coop this weekend. The next order of business will be some type of run for him. I'm not sure who I would put in with him even after a while though because he is only one of two standards and the rest are bantams? Does that matter much in this case? I know lots of people keep their bantams with their standards, but not sure how well that would work for the bantam in this particular case. Any input and advice on that is greatly appreciated!

Oh!!! And I go my first egg today!!!

I'll post it on the first egg thread after schools out. I already have a few people who are ready to draw and quarter me for all the pics I owe on the craft threads ^_^ If I post that one with out posting the other ones, they might come after me!
