My four oldest hens are a year old this month. They are part Rhode Island Reds and something else and are mostly sweet. My favorite one, Jenny, has suddenly turned mean. She pecks at me every chance she gets. They have all been laying for about six months now. They have their own pen and Jenny is not at the top of the pecking order of these four chickens. The other chickens are in another pen.
