I have googled them a few times and find the same thing. Sites telling you some history and how they got there coloration but that's about it.

We have 2 that are about 4 or 5 weeks. They are doing well. I talk turkey with them all the time. Try to handle them. The used to eat out of my hand. Not real excited about it kind of skittish, but the really wanted what ever food it was that I was offering. They have stopped taking food from my hand. They really don't like to be picked up a lot. They don't even try running up and peck at my wedding band.

Our BBW were friendlier then these guys are becoming. Am I doing something wrong or are these just not the friendliest breed of turkeys. This is what I am trying to find out. We got our Bourbon Reds because they are supposed to be a friendly breed. The BBW are for dinners. But they turned out to be nice too. Sweetgrass, got them by accident and don't know anything about them.

So I am hoping some turkey people will read this and tell me what they might know about the Sweet Grass breed.

It looks like its a breed developed from Royals,Bronze, broad breasted whites, from what I am gathering they are what some call Calico.
I dont know the temperment of these birds as I havent raised them as yet.. but Bronze turkeys can be either puppyish or stand offish. this might be where the temperment you are experiencing is coming from.
