Sweet lone faverolle, bullied.

I've only had a few Favorelles, so I can't speak from vast experience here. My roosters were very sweet to people and other birds, but definitely picked on by the other breed males, even the bantam boys. The hens were at best in the middle of the flock, never dominant, and I don't keep really pushy birds like RIRs or NHs. If I were to pick one cockrel who will not be human aggressive, it would be the Favorelle. Mary

This is my 3 month salmon faverolle, Medusa. She's the only faverolle in my mixed flock of 10, ages ranging from 2-3 months. When I got her, I hadn't heard of her breed, and knew nothing of their temperaments. Honestly I just got her because the name was so interesting. They free range in the yard, and she's usually keeping to herself. They bully her a bit, but yesterday one of them pecked her on the nose, and she ended up hiding her head in the corner to keep them from getting her. I know there's a pecking order, and that she's on the bottom, (and that's normal) but I'm still hoping for a way to help. Maybe if I got another faverolle? Any advice or suggestions!

is she younger..? if so maybe you can keep her in a safe place, until she gets older...? i never had this kind of problems in the past, but now having problems with BR & NHR that are picking on my wyandotts, who were younger,so i put the wyandotts in a separate place, but now the wyandotts are older and are better at protecting them selves, and even one of the head wyandotts makes the NHR run in fear ...lol.. and the NHR make the BR run in fear....lol.... so the pecking order is changing, but you never know..? I have spent every day out with them from 6am to 6pm to stop the pecking, and its been quite the job , but i cant stand injustice...lol... and wont have any of my birds picked on, its horrible & what kind of lfe is that for them...? but i dont think or know that getting another Faverolle will help...? just tring to get the picking to stop any way you can...? they sell stuff that can be put on the birds to try to stop the pecking...?but i dont know much about that..? but gosh i really i know how you feel,

My favorolle is the bully just to my Golden Wyandotte. I feel so sorry for her, she runs from her and ends up being alone because of it. They are all the same age and have been together the whole time. I don't know what to do about her. I have a pecking block, I have a strong branch and a old chair and a mirror for them and she is still so mean to her. She is almost 22weeks now and hasn't started laying actually out of the four my Cinnamon Queen is the only one who is laying. I keep hoping to look in the nesting box and find more than one egg but so for that hasn't happened. I have four hens, I will one day get more than one egg right??

Yes once they all start laying you should be averaging around 3 eggs a day.
