After reading all the wonderful posts about using Sweet PDZ for poop trays I decided that was the way to go for my new coop. Now, where to find it. The only place I could find it was in the States with $120 shipping cost. So I am in the process of doing some digging.

Sweet PDZ is a brand name for zeolite, a mineral. There is a company in BC that mines it and actually has a product ground and sold specifically for poultry. It's called Poultry Sound or Activated Poultry Sound. Now, the problem is, they're just getting their retail distribution set up (I'm going to call them on Monday to see if it's available on the market yet and if so where to find it).

In the meantime, I found the correct consistency of zeolite at a local landscaping company. Evidently one of its many uses is an additive for garden soil. It's also used in fish tanks, a dietary supplement, deodorizer for artificial grass and even in fabric! So the toughest part is actually trying to find the right consistency and price. Naturally, buying it as a dietary supplement is the most expensive.

I'll keep my fellow Canadians posted on what else I find out.

I think I might've read somewhere that it's sold as 'stable boy' or some such in Canada?

Nope. Searched "Stall Dry" and on their site it says it's composed mainly of diatomaceous earth and clay.

However, it also says it neutralizes ammonia and neither of those ingredients have that property to my knowledge. So there may be zeolite in it and they just don't want to give out that their active ingredient is something that is available in other products or by itself.
