I don't, but only use a thin layer(and sift it all when cleaning), have to add when it gets too thin. Only 22sqft to deal with tho.

I do. I have two removable poop boards. Every once in a while I take them out. Dump in the run. Spray clean. Dry during the day. Put them back in at night. This is come Every 6 months. But when i know i am going to do this i let the PDZ be very thin.
 
I thought stall dri had somethibg in it that is bad for chicken lungs? I cannot find PDZ anywhere in my town. My chicks are finally roosting so I need to set up my poop boards!
 
I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but this being the first time I even hear of PDZ I'd like to know if the chickens will ingest it and could it be toxic to them?

Yes, they might ingest some.
No, it is not toxic.
