SWEETS-THEMED HATCH-ALONG IS HERE!🍦🧁🍫🍬🍭🍩🍪🍰

Pics
I did a dissection. Here's the results.

Swedish: had baby feathers. May have died on day 9 or 10 or maybe later. I don't know why I didn't realize he was dead when I candled on day 12.
Nerd: died day 7, 8, or maybe 9.
Reese: died day 9 or 10, had feathers.
Hershey: died same time as Nerd.

Come on Toffee and the Candy Chicks! You’re going to do this! 🩷 (Sorry to hear about Swedish, Hershey, Nerd, and Reese’s Piece's. 😞 Rest peacefully, little ones.)

We have so many pips today!!!:woot:celebrate:wee
Well, yesterday night I realized that Meringue, Sour Patch, Toffee, and another one (I couldn't see the number) were all pipping! This morning I woke up to see that a baby had hatched, which is Meringue! I'm happy to say that he is a strong baby and is very curious. He likes pecking things. He/she is a light brahma and olive egger mix, meaning that he has feathered feet ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ After pecking the incubator lid a few times, that was to much excitement for little Meringue so it went to sleep. I've never seen Meringue's coloring before, the last time there was a light brahma and olive egger mix, the chipmunk pattern was very distinct.

The chipmunk pattern should become more distinct as they dry! I had a Buckeye × Speckled Sussex mix and when it was wet I was wondering how in the world I had gotten a pure Buckeye (because my Buckeye hens hadn't started laying yet and he had no stripes, like Buckeye chicks) but when he dried off he got his stripes, same with all my other chicks with stripes. (Most of them did, except my Maran mixes.)

This is so exciting!! Congrats Meringue!! Light colored like a Meringue too!!

Go Custard! You can do it! ❤🍦
