swelling under eyes?

last week i had a chicken with a swollen eye...i presumed it had been pecked or scratched so just kept it clean and it cleared up. then another chicken showed a swelling under her eye...she still has it, no discharge just a red swelling. now today ive spotted another hen with the same problem, a swelling under the eye that pushes the eyelid closed. any idea what could be causing this??

Could be a number of things. Keep an eye out for other symptoms like sneezing or gurgling.

I have found my younger chicks get swelly eyes when I use too much DE.

Unfortunately, swelly eyes oftem mean there is a respiratory issue waiting to rear its ugly head.
