Well, I have 4 aylesbury ducklings, now 2 and a half weeks old, and was wondering when they can have permanent access to water to paddle in?

They have daily supervised swims, and they don't need a heat lamp anymore. Thanks a lot!

Mine dont have access to water for unsupervised swimming until around 5 - 6 weeks old. This is the earliest they are outside during the day with the rest of the flock with a kiddie pool to swim in. until then they get a swim in the bathtub every night since they are inside the house.
It really depends on the size of container and how easily they can get in and out on their own- and what the temperature is. Until they are fully feathered they can still chill quickly so having a small shallow container is better than a deeper one.

I'd wait another week or so and put them in a small wadding pool tipped up on end slightly so they can get in and out easily. Also, WATCH them. Do not leave them alone.

Also, dry them off with a towel gently. Have fun!
