Swindled!

I'd bring it up. It was a virbal contract. He broke it. Law suits have been won on less.

Probrably a break down in communication between him and his receptionist/secretary. They might not have known of a deal.

Still, if there are other factors for you finding a new vet.... get the bill fixed and STILL find a new vet. I have a great vet, but it took 5 bad ones to find him.

He quoted you 160 then charged 280 that's a blatant breech of (verbal) contract.

I'd pay the 160 and tell him if he wants any more that you'd see him in court.

And that you'll be happy to pass the word along to ALL your friends, neighbors, business associates, etc. just exactly what his practice is all about.

That's just sick... a person claiming to care about animals, using YOUR caring about animals, to manipulate and rob people.

I would just put in a call asking for an explaination..... I would be polite as this is very likely an ooops a simple oversight that is easily remedied... good luck...let us know how it went.

Good point, I guess I'm just paranoid by nature. Hopefully it's just a clerical error.

I would only pay what he said. You didn't have to take the ferel cats in to have them fixed, but to help with the increasing population you did.
He should have done it for free in my eyes. Might want to start looking for another vet.

Yeah, I'd say that confirms swindle. If you can't trust the man to keep his word about something this small, something that wasn't even for you but for the community what else can/will he lie about.

Definitely would be finding a more trustworthy vet... it's just not worth the risk.
