Swine flu

Click on the above link and scroll down to the part that talks about disease.

Here is a copy of the paragraph

"It is speculated that a collection of Smithfield's farms in Perote, Veracruz in Mexico may have been the source of the 2009 swine flu outbreak. Residents in the area have complained of the swarms of flies around waste lagoons. Mexican health officials have said that the type of fly is associated with reproducing in pig waste, and that the swine influenza outbreak may have a link to these pig farms". [12]

How come it seems to always be some huge corporation and their greed that causes major health and financial problems to unsuspecting people.

The news report I saw a few days ago said that there should be a vaccine ready in the fall. I think I'll pass on it. The new swine flu is actually a mix of swine, human and avian flu. At least that's what the news said. It's all a bunch of garbage anyway.

Well I havent even heard about in a couple weeks, so I guess Nebraska isnt making too huge of a deal out of it!!

Is the news still covering it pretty good in your neck of the woods, HorseJody?

I am a nurse and I have not heard anything about H1N1 besides what has been in the news. When people first started talking about it I did some research. It was no more deadly than Aflu or Bflu. People with compromised immune systems are more likely to die from flu. Period. I think people are freaking out cause its new and called the SWINE FLU. They should of called it the FLOWER FLU then no one would think twice about it.

I think this is...odd. Baxter patented the swine flu vaccine a year before the outbreak happened.

US20090060950A1 to Baxter International filed 28th August 2008

"In particular preferred embodiments the composition or
vaccine comprises more than one antigen.....such as
influenza A and influenza B in particular selected from of one
or more of the human H1N1, H2N2, H3N2, H5N1, H7N7, H1N2,
H9N2, H7N2, H7N3, H10N7 subtypes, of the pig flu H1N1,
H1N2, H3N1 and H3N2 subtypes, of the dog or horse flu H7N7,
H3N8 subtypes or of the avian H5N1, H7N2, H1N7, H7N3,
H13N6, H5N9, H11N6, H3N8, H9N2, H5N2, H4N8, H10N7, H2N2,
H8N4, H14N5, H6N5, H12N5 subtypes."

"Suitable adjuvants can be selected from mineral gels,
aluminium hydroxide, surface active substances, lysolecithin,
pluronic polyols, polyanions or oil emulsions such as water in
oil or oil in water, or a combination thereof. Of course the
selection of the adjuvant depends on the intended use.
E.g. toxicity may depend on the destined subject organism
and can vary from no toxicity to high toxicity."

"Three different influenza strains, two A-strains Hiroshima
(HR, H3N2), a New Calcdonia (NC, H1N1) and a B-strain,
Malaysia (MA), were produced in Vero cell cultures. After
virus propagation the infectious virus harvest is inactivated
prior to purification...."

The Southern states are the largest producers of pork, with NC being one of them. Yes, it is still in the news here, but really toned down so folks won't panic.
