Okay, my Royal Palm hen has gone broody on a batch of eggs she laid...unfortunately unless a wild turkey is sneaking in they are not fertile. Due to our mini jack going on a territory rampage, we lost our other hens and tom. If I get some fertile eggs do you think I could switch them out when she gets off to feed?? Any ideas would be appricated! Thanks.

I can get under every one of my turkeys to collect eggs or do whatever I want with no problem. That is how they have been rasied. I trust my turkeys never to peck me. I don't have this same trust for my chickens. This is even more true if they are truely broody. You can't scare a truely broody hen off a nest. They will just keep comming right back on the nest. I don't see why you could not change out the eggs.

You can do it with her on the nest. Some people think you shouldn't let them see you collect the eggs, but it doesn't really matter if they do.
