My layers had dropped in production since I switched to organic layer feeds, Is that to be expected?

that is quite interesting... I am just in the process of switching my flock over to all organic.. I have my broilers now on organic non gmo and layers are next... interested to read this post and to hear what anyone else has to say... Does seem odd that production would slow.. did you ease them into the new feed? Mix some of the old and new until they are just on the new organic feed? How long have they been on the new feed?

They've been on it for a month now, I've eased them in to non gmo in a 2 day process. I use to feed them Layena omega plus. The egg production dropped to almost half since then.

wow... huh that is quite a big difference.. can you compare the list of ingredients to see if anything stands out? is there a protein ratio difference? I am as stumped as you but would be quite interested to figure it out... from what i had read you are supposed to get so much more production from feeding organic... not the other way around....
