How long after switching males will eggs hold sperm only from the new male?

I’ve heard a week, that’s how long I wait.

In my experience there isn’t any way to tell for sure when the “switch” happens. Maybe faster if there is another male breeding them but I hatched my last batch of eggs almost 3 weeks after I culled their father and the hens had not seen a male, and 6/7 were fertile.

Same experience I had ... literature says after 7 days fertilisation of old sperm drops dramaticly, ...
... but I had still some chicks from an old roo, after switch, when collected hatching eggs 14 days later.
