Okay, so recently I got some chicks, a mixture of sussexs and cuckoos. One of the cuckoos has a swollen abdomen and has been this way for about 3 days. The chicks are going on eight weeks. The lump was smaller at first and it is has grown over the last couple of days. She still eats and drinks with all the other chicks and no one is picking on her. It doesn't seem to bother her while she is walking around. Each morning and evening the chicks are moved from a cage inside to an outdoor enclosure and then to the inside cage at night. None of the other chicks are showing any sign of swelling. There is half a large crate in the outdoor enclosure that they can get on top of but I haven't seen them on top of it so I don't think she fell.

Please help! I've posted pictures below.

I really hope its not Ascites , which is a water buildup in the abdomen. Its usually accompanied by liver failure and it's non cure able. I have never seen it in layer chicks but I have a few meat chicks with it and I've butchered a 3 yr old barred Rock with Ascites.

Sorry I don't have any good news for you.
