One of my chickens (about 2 years old) has a swollen foot. We've treated bumblefoot in the past and it doesn't appear to be that. It looks like an infection. It's warm to the touch. There does not appear to be a cut or an opening where the infection could've gotten in. The coop is fairly clean (although I've never actually seen a clean clean coop so I don't know what to compare mine to). I plan on treating this myself if there is a way. If I need to cut into the foot, where would I do that? The swelling is around the bottom of her foot and between the knuckle. They are pink ball like shapes. The one between the knuckle is stiffer to the touch than the one on the bottom of her foot. I am not sure the breed of my chicken as it's a hybrid. What would you suggest? Will it get worse?
