I went out to feed my babies today when I came home from school to find my smallest stag, a black Sumatra/Phoenix cross, walking rather odd. I picked him up, thinking maybe his foot was cold from the weather, but instead found his throat area very swollen and hard, and warm to the touch. Could it be crop binding? What should I do? I saw on one thing when I was researching that perhaps I should eyedrop some mineral oil down his throat and massage the hard part. Could it be something else? I'm confused and really don't want my little Elvis to be in pain.

It doesnt sound like crop binding, feel his crop. Is it hard or large or otherwise abnormal?
Is his entire esophegus swollen? What area? Can you see his trachea when you open his beak and look down his throat? Does it look swollen around that area? And is he weezing or gasping at all?
Could you give us a few more details on this?
Thank u!

I'm not sure what it was but now, he's back to normal as usual. Thaaaaaaaaank goodness.
