Our chick had a yellowish pump under her one eye - we started treating it with colloidal silver , it started to get much better and we stopped for two days after that it started to swell up and got pinkish , we started treating it with colloidal silver and a warm cloth but now it is swollen so that her eye is closed. What can we do ?

I think I posted on another thread that I would clean the eye twice a day and apply Terramycin eye ointment (from many feed stores) into the eye 2-3 times per day. There are eye drops that a vet could prescribe with ciprofloxacin and prednisolone as well. Do you know if the other chicks have been pecking at the eye? If not, have their been any respiratory symptoms? Do you see any pus or gunk inside the eye? If so, I would try to squeeze it out before applying the antibiotic ointment. Colloidal silver probably won’t help this, and she could lose the sight in her eye.

Thank you so much - we have been cleaning it with a warm water cloth and her eye looks much better and she then opens it - she is alone and isolated tsp they did not peck her - her beak is turning dark and white bubbly water came out her eye , it that puss do you know - other wise it is better with the warm cloth so suspect it is sinus or so ?
We have also been applying a antibiotic salve so thank you ! These photos are before and after cleaning - her wing has also developed the same yellow bump we have put antibiotic ointment on it aswell but don’t know what it is

Can you give some background on the chick? Did she come from a hatchery, feed store, from a breeder, or did you hatch her? Do you have other chickens? Had you witnessed pecking from other chicks, or any sneezing, lethargy, or labored breathing? It is hard to know if this may be a respiratory disease, such as MG, or if the eye and wing bumps are due to pecking. Can you answer some of those questions? MG is a respiratory disease that can cause bubbles or foam in an eye along with swelling of eyes, sneezing, gasping, etc. It is transmitted from a carrier and it can also pass through hatching eggs.

Hi , she came from a small holding - we got her when she was only a day old and she is the only chick - she has been isolated from our other chickens - yes she has been gasping , she is sneezing a lot , she has been a bit sleepy , her poo is watery - ( it seems explosive ) her feathers on her chest look oily and seems like they are falling out because it looks like she has got a few bold spots ?
the eye is swelling up more and we have done all the things recommended but nothing seems to help much ?
