Pepper my elderly hen who is no longer laying. Her one eye lid looks slightly swollen, no liquid coming out her breathing is normal. I cleaned her eye with vetricyn and put vetRX on her beak but I dont think its respiratory infection. Her poop is normal she's perky and eating fine. I googled it but there are so many different answers to what might be wrong with her. I want your experience and suggestions too so i can figure what is really wrong with her so i can treat her. Thanks.

A peck in the eye will sometimes cause swelling, but you may see a peck mark around the eye. The Vetericyn you are using is good, or you can use an antibiotic ointment called Terramycin if it looks infected or has drainage or gunk. If other respiratory symptoms such as eye bubbles, sneeze, gasping, or nasal drainage develop, you may want to get some Tylan 50 injectable and give it orally for possible mycoplasma (MG.)

Thank you for your help, there isnt any drainage or gunk but it looks pretty irritated so i cleaned it and put some vetricyn on it. but i want to get some tylan 50 but i went to TSC today and they had the injectable but i am not comfortable doing that because i dont know what kind/size of needle to get and how much to inject. they did not have oral kind so do you know where i can buy that online?
