swollen eye photos - diagnosis?

Hello all - I just noticed yesterday that one of my RIR hens has a swollen eye on one side, and she appeared to be scratching at it with her foot. Photos of both the bad eye and the good eye on the same hen are below. I haven't noticed any discharge, and the other 5 hens and my rooster seem to be fine.

Any thoughts on what this is? Injury or disease? My biggest concern, of course, is something contagious spreading to the rest of the flock.

Hi. Just pull the eyelid apart and see if there is any foreign body, then ,flush with water. If there isn't anything there it may be that she was pecked in the eye. Isolate her and see if she gets better. God Bless you hen.

thanks semo - so this seems like an injury/foreign body issue to you, and not something contagious?
