The swollen eye can be a sign of a peck to the face, but it also can be a result of a respiratory disease. You will need to check her out for any sneezing, eye foam or bubbles, gasping, or wheezing. Look for pus in the eye. Check her crop to see if it is emptying overnight. Feel of her breastbone for weight loss, and the lower belly for swelling. Look her over for lice and mites. Feel inside her vent with one finger for a stuck egg. Has she been laying recently? Is she eating or drinking okay? Cooked egg and watery feed is good to feed when they are feeling poorly. Electrolytes in the water may help.

Sometimes they will get sick and be attacked by their own flock. If she is getting picked on, it may be good to keep her in a dog crate with food and water, but in site of the other chickens if possible.
