Hi, hoping someone can possibly help. I have a hen who’s been sneezing a lot and has had swollen eyes. All behavior seems the same and she eats/drinks but stopped laying… anybody ever have this issue before? All my other hens are fine. It’s been about 4 days since I noticed….

It looks like there may be bubbles in the right eye. Is that what you are seeing? That and swollen eyelid can be mycoplasma gallisepticum or MG/CRD, a chronic respiratory disease. You may want to treat her with an antibiotic, such as Tylosin powder or Denagard in her water. Here is where to find Tylosin, and dosage is 1 tsp per gallon of water for 5 days. Change it every other day.

Thank you for this 🙏 is it okay to go ahead & treat my entire flock? They aren’t showing any signs… and I’m assuming don’t consume eggs until then ?

It is best to only treat the chicken showing symptoms. You can accomplish that by keeping her in a wire dog crate with the others in view. Here is a link for TiaGard or Denagard tiamiulin:

Thank you! I am going to go with the Tigard but last question, wondering if it’s okay to give to a 5 month old hen.. she hasn’t laid her first egg yet but I’ve noticed she is sneezing a lot…
