Hello everyone I noticed that my 3 year old bantam hen has some sort of swelling behind her eye. She is eating, drinking and pooping normally. She is acting like her normal self. She is breathing regularly and has no mucus. The swelling feels airy. There doesn't seem to be anything behind it. Does anyone know what it might possibly be and how to treat it? Thank you!

Do you think she got a bug bite? Or does it seem to be an infection? I would give her vitamins B complex and E

1 of each capsules on spoon of yogurt 😊

Thank you so much! There seems to be no signs of a bug bite. I checked her ears and there doesn't seem to be an infection either. I was thinking it might be an injury but I'll continue to monitor her

Have you added any new birds to your flock recently that came from another home? Swelling of the face can be from a few different things. First it is good to rule out a respiratory sinus infection, and look for bubbles or watery foam in an eye. An insect sting, injury or could also be possible. I see no reason to treat with vitamins for this. Let us know if you see other symptoms.

Thank you for responding! I have not introduced any new birds. She does not seem to be exhibiting any signs of a respiratory sinus infection nor do I see any bubbles in her eyes or mucus in her nostrils. As of now I do not see any symptoms other than the swelling.
