Hello. My only male guinea, 2 yo, had been limping for the past 2 weeks, ever since he flew back down from the roof of the house (not an uncommon occurrence, it has never bothered him before). Included are photos of his very swollen middle toe. It is hard and had a yellowish tint. Could I need to drain pus? Apply ointment? I do not see an obvious cut/wound.

I was finally able to catch him so he is in a crate now. I figure at least a few days to a week of crate rest will help by keeping him off the foot.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

@Kiki @Lemon-Drop that's not bumblefoot, it it?

I soaked in warm Epsom salt bath for 15 minutes then looked at the bottom of the toe. No black spot/corn evident but it does look like there is a cut or laceration right below (nearest the toenail) where the swelling starts. Keeping him crated for now. Should I treat to draw out an infection?
