Swollen Leg due to band on leg not being removed timely

We are new to the chicken world and stuipldy did not take off the bands on their legs until I noticed their legs were getting swollen. All of them seem to be find except the largest chick (an ameraucana). This chick bottom half of one leg is very swollen. I have been putting Neosporin on the sore as it appears to maybe be infected. The chick is having trouble walking on it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - I feel so bad about it! thanks so much wellschicks

Probably the best thing to do for her now is to do warm epsom salt soaks to her legs twice a day for 10-15 minutes. Dry thoroughly, then apply Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic ointment. Hopefully the tissue will recover, and no permanent damage was done. I'm glad you caught this because this happens a lot when chicks grow so fast.
