SWOLLEN & RED RUMP- Dog Bite No Exit Wound

Chicken Little's rump is infected from a small dog nip. It closed up rapidly, and became infected. How much penicillin and how often? I am very worried- the rump blowing up and turning red. I have two days of 1/3 cc penicillin into her, and I am wondering if I should have hit it harder- like 2x a day?. I will know tonight if she is turning around. Her behavior has been normal. Also, wont it abscess & drain on its own if that's what's meant to be? I have cleansed the wound initially with betadyne soap mix, etc. but the puncture went deeper obviously.

If it was me and the penicillin wasn't working i would drain it soak it for awhile put some neosporin on it, wrap it up (if its a wrappable place) continue with the penicillin and hope for the best.

But thats just what i would do

Drain it by lancing it? How would you do it? Sterilize a knife...It hasn't come to a head- it was a balloon shape.
