my year old easter egger has not been foraging w/ the others, just hanging out in the shed or coop. was laying every-other-day or so but no egg since sunday. i checked her vent but couldn’t feel an egg, but her vent is swollen & a little purple (see pic below). we did a 15 min epsom salt bath, will repeat tomorrow. did i traumatize her vent (i was gentle) or is this a sign she’s egg bound? seems to be eating & drinking ok, loved the treats while i was soaking her.

A clear picture of her vent would help. You may check for a stuck egg by inserting one finger an inch or two inside her vent to feel for an egg. Is she able to pass droppings?

sorry, i thought i got a puc but i guess not. re-tried, hope you can see it. she is pooping. there was a shell-less egg in the coop today which i assume was the issue. still kind of acting weird. my chickens free range & aren’t really interested in layer feed. wondering how to get them more calcium. she skoffed at yogurt last night!

pic added, sorry! i did check her vent & didn’t feel an egg, there was a shell-less egg in the coop this am, wondering if the epsom salt bath last night helped her move things along. she pooped on me last night while i was blow drying her
