Hello!
I am new to this site. We raise Rhode Island Reds, Black Australorps and heritage breed turkeys (Narangansett, White Holland and Bourbon Reds).
We have a Narangansett Tom (10 months) who has a really swollen wattle. I noticed it this past weekend. My husband says it is hot and feels like it might be full of puss.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong with this bird? He is our big guy and we are counting on him for his genetics. We don't want to lose him. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Welcome to BYC. If you could post a photo of the tom it would be very helpful. Does he free range? It is very easy for these guys to take a briar/thorn while wandering (one of our Slate toms had a chunk of caruncle completely torn off by an encounter with an Osage Orange thorn).

Clean the area with Betadine tea (1 part betadine to 9 parts water) and examine for wound.

Again, welcome. And best of luck.
