Hi everyone! I am a chicken newby and I am looking forward to learning from all of you! I have 5 Sussex pullets and am really anxious for them to start laying. They are 4 months old, wonder how long it will be before they start to lay.

Hi and from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. It shouldn't be too much longer. Most breeds begin laying 18 -24 weeks old.

Most of my hens started laying after 20 weeks. Hope you get some eggs soon!
