Sycamore tree seeds

Has anyone ever tried feeding the seed balls from an American sycamore tree to their birds? Are they save for chickens to eat? I did some searching online and they only list the wild birds that eat them. I hate cleaning the things up off the ground and was just wondering if I could find a use for them. Thanks.

Bump. Anyone ever tried this? I have a 50ft tall sycamore that produces tons of these.
