He studied the crumbling cliffs as they approached, the fallen reddish black boulders were a stark contrast against the white beach sand. The ground changed from the coarse white sand, to a powdery brown silt that was a lot easier to walk on, compacted down by time and waves. Dried seaweed hidden below the surface occasionally stabbed at the bottoms of his feet, but he didn't mind it as much as the shifting sand that had made his calves ache.
Aside from the large amount of trees, this beach actually reminded him a lot of home. Sand with jutting rock outcroppings forming a giant wall of stone, that if the tide came up to while you were out there, let’s just say you wouldn’t want to be caught with no way back.
They came to a gap in the cliffs that rounded back and opened on a rocky winding valley of sorts. A few scraggly trees gripped the near vertical cliff walls, their roots snaking along the surface in search of water. The branches almost hid the straight line of a bridge that connected the two cliffs from above. And just below that, sat an old building, leaning lazily to one side, overtaken by thorny climbing roses, and other wild flowers.
This wasn’t their destination, just the landmark they’d been told about. They could stop and complete this small dungeon, but the reward would barely be worth it. Dungeons near the beach were generally lower level, and offered beginner supplies, slightly better weapons than the stick you started out with.
Their goal was further up in the mountains, a dungeon hidden in a cave not behind but near a waterfall.

She was reluctant to follow them, even in the slightest, but she did have to talk to the shopkeeper, and get him to ask around for her. She'd waited long enough already. Asking at other businesses to get a team set up. She should have known better than wasting her money anywhere else. If you wanted a job done right Jack's was the place to go.
She was running low on funds now, carrying the last of what she owned with her to pay Jack. Being without her bow for nearly a week, had cut significantly into her income. But she couldn't take on the more dangerous jobs, not without it. She wasn't really experienced with close combat, her dagger being mainly for the rare occasion she was caught off guard
She walked up the road, glancing back over her shoulder every now and again, waiting for the tell tale signs that the previous area had disappeared. It had taken a long time to learn what that looked like. Looking behind you when you were walking forward was usually to look for people following. Not for watching the sky flicker to a subtly different shade of blue.
It was hard to imagine now that she had once not been able to tell the difference here, between reality, and simulation. It had taken many years to pick up on the tiny details that now were so obvious to her they practically screamed it was all fake.
She turned back around walking backwards as she approached the forest, it should be just about far enough. There it was, the almost imperceptible flicker. Time to go back.

Welcome to The Game
The year is 2035, your character wakes in a world they were not in before. It is entirely virtual reality, and your character is trapped here. They will wake in a completely random landscape, whether it be on a relaxing beach, calm field of tall grass, blistering hot desert, pouring cold rainforest, or even surrounded by a cascade of mountains--the environments are endless. Though as they progress and explore their new surroundings, everything will slowly fade into a new one. Eventually your character will run into others who suffered the same misfortune-- would it be smart to befriend them? or continue on solo? Which ever decision could prove dangerous, or helpful. In this world, almost anything will generate here, whether it be past memories for characters to resolve as quests, deserted towns, giant lizards with mouths covering almost every surface of their bodies, the undead, or gigantic corgi's. However, along the way your character will discover dungeons, bounties, loot, and far more.
Of course the most important answer they will be looking for is how they got here.
Safe Zone
This is a large industrial city located within the game where users can interact with NPC's, visit shops, buy and trade items, rest, eat, etc. The city is the central point of the game. It never vanishes or generates dangerous obstacles (thus the safe zone). Though it does not prevent users from harming one another.
The User
Users are your characters, they are granted up to three lives before having to purchase more at a designated shop. They will all spawn with a number tattooed on their dominant palm which the game uses to track and identify them. You are free to pick a number between (0-100). Users come in all different shapes, sizes, backgrounds, ethnicities, gender identities, so long as they are humanoid.
Spawn
All characters will spawn with a pack, which holds essentials such as (1) food bar, (1) water bottle, (1) medicinal ointment that heals all injuries, and a basic weapon that best reflects the character. When a User loses a 'life' they will simply respawn near their death spot and have to reclaim their items.

Other Information:
- Right off the bat, your character WILL NOT know they are in a virtual reality video game, they will learn along the way as they explore the generated world. So please don't make them aware almost immediately.
- It's important to know that the Game will almost never work in the favor of the Users, so it will make your characters travels, quests, raids, etc. fairly difficult. It is up to you what kind of challenges/foes the Game will throw at your characters, and if you need assistance, feel free to ask me or anyone else.
- Credits/currency will be earned by defeating enemies, selling goods, looting dungeons/hideouts, and completing quests. Currency will appear as silver coins.
- Weaponry will be kept simple, there are no high-powered guns, rocket launchers, heavy artillery, etc. Some weapons will have elemental bonuses such as ice or fire, but these are incredibly rare. Upgrades can be made at shops within the Safe Zone.
If you have any further questions about this Role-play, please don't hesitate to ask questions.
A big thank you to @Rose Quartz for helping me put this RP together, I couldn't have done this without her.
