if you read what I wrote you would see that I do not agree with the bail out as far as the banks and investment companies are concerned, not at all. I just pray that there is some reason for it and that it is above my understanding. I dont think it will work, I do think it was wrong but I am by no means knowledgeable on fiscal matters. I would have given the money back to the people with the rule that it must be spent on either mortgages or paying off debt. This way the money still made it back to the banks but with out s*rewing the people. I have had it explained to me several times why this bail out was done this way but still do not understand it.Although I am happy that at least all the info is out there. I am hoping that those that are in charge and have made these seeming wrong decisions know something that I dont. But probably not. I seems that although it was the treasuries job to keep track of what was given out that they did not even do that, since there are huge discrepancies with what has been given and to whom. Again I do not consider myself a dem or rep, just a citizen who from MY POINT of view thinks that often we yell about one thing when we should be focusing on the big picture. If I felt like the tea parties were all about the bail out I would have been standing there right beside you all, I just dont see it coming across as clearly as you do.
With that said I very much fear for this country and the life I will be leaving behind for my child. I just think that there is a lot more to it and the bailout is just the tip of the iceberg. I do not believe though that we are headed towards socialism, and that Obama is evil and going to ruin this country, I think the damage was done long ago and agree that it will get worse before it gets better. I guess I do have some faith deep deep down that maybe this is fixable. Are we on the right path, I dont know but I will reserve my opinion on our present government in its whole until enough time has passed to see if they really are on the right path.
as for facts I would love the links to any and all concrete plans on what should have been done (not just ranting but an actual blue print for fixing this mess) and how what has been done is wrong and could have been done differently.
And again I ask where was everybody the last 8 years that our country was run into the ground? are you equally as unhappy with how big business gets away with everything, how free trade has caused loss of jobs and inferior items, how about the fact that people are flocking to other countries for medical help because we are so far behind, how our soldiers are treated, or that Gay marriage, abortion, and other personal issues took a fore front in so many of our elections while the important stuff like health care, and our education took a back seat?
I hope no one thinks I am arguing with them, and when I said not one intelligent person spoke, well that did not mean that no intelligent people were there just that they did not have good sound bites I guess...

Fox plants? And conservatives are the ones being refered to as conspiracists? It has been well stated by those who began the movement, brought the tea parties to fruition, attended them, and promoted them that it is a non partisan issue.
The government has been spending well beyond their means for far too many years. The bailouts, stimulus, and budget are the straws that have broken the camels back and the people are beginning to say enough.
As far as honesty goes no tax cheat should be a part of the cabinet. That should be an automatic disqualification.
Oh just an fyi... We had a tea party 10 minutes from here. They had a container for tea bags to be put in and those were given to the local food pantry. I thought that was a good idea. I would have liked to have shacked the hand of the person who suggested it.
