The Senator that introduced the bill that repealed the act was Phil Gramm, right?
Recently repealed by Clinton, if I'm not mistaken (which I probably am. I really should Google this, I think.)

And it's the Glass-Steagall Act.

Commonly mispelled/mispronounced as "Seagal".

I just tried to google the Glass-Seagal act and I mostly I found only questions and opinions from American citizens I did find who had it repealed and it wasnt Bush. It was done in 1999 even though I thought I liked that administration now I see I was being snowed.

Just curious, but for those who did watch the FOX coverage of the tea parties - and if they watched the Texas party - did you notice how all those "extremists" and "nut jobs" were so quiet and respectful while Ted Nugent played the National Anthem and how they cheered afterwards?

Thank you, I knew that!

The point is, as with most things, you cannot point the accusing finger at one person. Wicked Bush is not the only politician on the planet, you know. Neither is Obama clueless. Our economic meltdown has been brewing for decades, with many hands behind it's supposedly "sudden" appearance.

In fact, as I understoof it, there were few choices for Obama except the people who were instrumental in bringing about our current financial imbroglio (guys like Robert Rubin). Mr. Obama would have had to go to a nursing home to get anyone who preceded them. So, these same people are yet again advising our president.

So yeah, the TEA party people have a good case.

See you watched FOX

Yes, I watched FOX. AND my local stations AND other mainstream national stations. And your are right, it's almost ridiculous to trust any of them.

And HappyChick,

now that you have gone a bit further in explaining your view, I think we agree on quite a bit. And I think there were alot of people just like you and me at the parties. I don't care when the damage was done or by whom. It was done and it is continuing at a fast pace. And I will be much more careful when I cast my votes in the future because I admittedly put my head in the sand and hoped for the best. But sometimes it seems like we only get to choose from bad vs. worse and that's what makes me unhappy with government.

Yes Clinton signed it. Congress initiated the bill, a bi-partisan congress. Back then they didn't split everything straight down party lines. Clinton also signed off on NAFTA. I guess the point is that it wasn't Obama. So quit blaming him.

Ill say it again for those who missed it:

The best thing we have going for us is our differences.

If we were united under one party, with only one controlling government, then we would have Soviet-style communism.

Go America, Go!
