T-post pounder on head?

A T- post is 6' tall. I am not. I am in the falling off the stool camp. I use the tractor bucket for a platform that way I can get above the post and not wear out my shoulders. Had a 2200 lb bull keep me on the bucket once and the post pounder didn't make much of a dent in his head.

What's a T post pounder? I use a sledge hammer while standing on a step ladder on uneven ground, I'm all about safety here. And I have found through years of experience when hitting yourself in the head with a hammer or T post pounder it's one of those things that it feels good when you stop.

I was remodeling a basement once and I was in a position where I could only drive a nail if I swung the hammer towards the 2x4 in an arc towards my head. Sure as heck I missed the nail because swinging a hammer that way isn't natural or smart. Yeah, I hit myself in the forehead. Another lesson learned.

I can't even count how many t-post i pounded in with a 10 lb sledge hammer. I didn't even know they had t-post drivers till I saw one at HD. It's hard to hit a t-post with a sledge. It's even harder to get your kid to hold it while you try.

I haven't, but my boyfriend did it making my new goat pen 3 weeks ago. He cracked open his head... rubbed sea salt in it and left it at that. He's funny... I felt totally bad about it, but he's all healed now.

The top 8" or so is full of slag. So if you let the bottom come up over the top of the t-post it tips towards you and hits you in the head. Total weight is around 25lbs or so.

Getting hit in the head with a post driver is no
fun. Done that before.
Before grandpa died he somehow or another got
his thumb between the driver and post. Just
about cut it all the way off.
