T.V. or not to T.V, this is my question...

I live alone, I turn on tv when I get home from work and it stays on till bed time. A lot of times I am not watching it, more for background noise. Makes you feel not alone.

I have a tv but I only watch it at night I mostly online during the day watch a little tv at night then listen to my ipod the rest of the night.

We have a television set, but don't do cable or satellite or anything. But I like getting the news, and there are a few other shows I'll watch. DH likes watching movies on it. My son used to play video games on it. I figure it'd take about two weeks to adapt if we threw the thing out, and I'd probably spend MORE time on here or reading...lol.

Have an old tiny TV my mom gave me. Can't really use it though because we don't have a converter box, and I doubt we would watch it then anyway, so it would be a waste of money. We do have netflix and watch stuff on the computers though.

My house hold has 4. I use none of em. My reasons:
- There nothing good on

- They are very loud
- I have better things to do
I suppose being blind could be a set back, but that wouldn't stop me! >.<

It must be me! LOL I watch all kinds of shows, stuff on animal planet, TLC, History Channel, Military Channel, HBO Series like True Blood and Boardwalk Empire (Great show, u are missing out if you haven't seen it.) I record them and watch them when I have time, I am super busy, so sometimes I don't watch TV for weeks, but when I can I will get an episode or two in. I personally think TV is like anything else, its fine in moderation, and you can use it like a tool and pick and choose what you want to get out of it. Example, if you want to watch PBS or Ovation, you can do so, and learn a lot about art and culture. Or you can watch the movie channels and whatever genre of movie you prefer.

We have a couple TV's, and have satellite service. We can do without it much of the year (and do put our service on suspension for months) - but DH & I love football. I can do without it and don't really miss it, but DH works so hard, I can't ask him to do without football. It's about the only luxury item he requests. We don't have any of the pay channels (no HBO, Cinemax, etc).

I don't watch many of the programs people tell me I "need" to see, but I do have a couple favorites. I really like "Grimm", "Parenthood", and "Justified". I will have the cooking channel on sometimes when I'm home, more for noise but sometimes I get some great recipes/ideas.
