Perhaps instead of posting every 1, 2 and 5 minutes demanding an answer, you could reach out to the board owner directly and ask him. I am not sure why you would assume or accuse the "moderators" of doing this. I found that rather insulting and rude, and a personal attack on us who are here to help folks and keep things running smoothly. JMHO

And in case you forgot the rules of our forum, here they are:

Dont's
This is a list of things you should not do on our board. BYC Staff will lock or remove topics if there are posts that are contrary to the good of the community. If a member continues to disregaurd our guidelines they will be banned from accessing the Backyard Chickens forum.

* Remember this is a family board no foul language and no inappropriate "Adult" topics.
* No PETA or Cock fighting posts, period!
* No Flaming (verbally attacking people or groups of people - e.g. a profession, an organization, a company.)
* No Trolling (posting to provoke others, luring them to flame or rant). Trolling is sometimes done involuntary, so please be considerate when posting.
* No Spam. Spamming is posting the same thing several times. "Bumping" (posting to move a thread up on the forum list) and cross-posting (posting the same thread in several forums) are examples of spam.
* No Fighting. Taking a personal conflict to the forum is unacceptable. "I'm right, you're wrong" threads and posts will be edited or deleted.
* Do not post your phone number or your age (especially if you are a minor) or any other personal info you don't want the whole world to see.
* Do not promote other poultry websites that could be considered in competition to BYC. Sometimes it may be appropriate to link to another site that has specific information relative to a question, but moderators have to right to remove links and posts at their discretion.
* Advertising other forums is not allowed and we dissuade discussing drama that happens on other forums.

I, too, feel that a little adult behavior would be more appropriate here.

If you read the rules, you will see that these are pretty clear:

* Do not promote other poultry websites that could be considered in competition to BYC. Sometimes it may be appropriate to link to another site that has specific information relative to a question, but moderators have to right to remove links and posts at their discretion.

*Advertising other forums is not allowed and we dissuade discussing drama that happens on other forums.

and then there is this one:

BYC staff spend a TON of time and energy to keep the forum running smoothly. How BYC staff moderate is not ever a topic for open discussion on the forum. If you have any questions or feedback on moderation it should be addressed to the Administrator or the specific moderator via email or private message.
* Do not post threads questioning moderation.

Now, as far a peacefully co-existing, there is no reason not to. However, the other board was a copy of byc created by a member who was unable to abide by the rules here. There was considerable bad mouthing of the byc site, byc members and staff at the other forum followed by a few people posting links here to cause trouble. Thus the censorship. They are free to create their own board and seek out their own members.... just not on our board. Why would we advertise a board where there has been so much crap slinging at us? They have made no attempt to peacefully coexist. Rather, they have done much to malign this board to its members. They have now moved their nasty posts to a members only section so that they dont look so bad to visitors.

There is a great deal that goes on behind the scenes and there are good reasons for the rules that we have in place and enforce.

I really didn't want to say anything else - but you know ME!

I think its easy for people to point fingers at the mods - because they are so visable and are just doing their "job" I do think sometimes the mods find it very difficult, but they too have rules to follow.

All of the mods I "know" have always been really nice to me - even when YELLING at me - cause I do stick my foot in my mouth now and then (Shhhhhhhh PC)

There are things in my OWN job I don't like doing, or perhaps don't agree with, but I have to do them - and I also get people upset at me on a regular basis.

I don't want to come across as brown noseing - but the mods DO do a good job, and even though I have seen things I would not agree with - its not them PERSONALLY, its their JOB and the rules they agreed to uphold.

Now everybody

I don't see what the fuss is about???

If you join a church or social group you do it because you like the people and feel comfortable there. You also know what the rules are before you join... Why join an orginization and then promptly begin attempting to change the rules? The rules were there before we joined and will more than likely be there when we leave so why waste time complaining instead of just enjoying what is here and going elsewhere when we choose?

I think I'll go feed my chickens.

I have grown to love this forum. It is friendly, sincere and refreshing to check into after I have been out in the less-than-friendly parts of the world. Thank you to everyone that keeps it this way!
