Dunno if I can compete with a UHaul, but here's my handcrafted (or hand-somethinged!) pair of coops...
I took photos from two angles, so you can see the wonderful details.
Coop name: RainyDay Playhouse
Construction Date: 4/10-8/10 (in spurts)
Fun details: I was making it up as I went along changing specs each time one of the boards was ½ too short!
Building by myself, with very little body strength, meant I was learning a lot about pivots and leverage! Main coop houses the four NH Reds, and the coopette (with the peaked roof) has the two barred rocks I tried to introduce them into the same coop, but it just didnt work
so
back to the drawing board!
The plastic awning was recycled from an over-door set up, and is now a rain shelter, as is the long clear plastic sheet off to the left of the coopette (which, BTW, just collapsed this evening as I was trying to nail in a hanger for the feeder!
- the rain shelter, not the coopette!
)
I've been through several variation of rain shelter, as Oregon has some bodacious downpours! The big coop is situated in the woodshed (which I didn't make!) and doesn't have to worry about leaks; the coopette just got shingled because my original roof design was a bit... porous. The run fencing was free from a neighbor, though I finally constructed a gate because twist-ties holding wire together was annoying (so now it's bungy cords - big improvement!
) The green netting overhead is ballet tutu netting from a fabric store - the green makes it less obnoxious to passing neighbors, but also makes it harder to see, so I'm always running into it and knocking it down (or my hat off)!
The coops probably don't have a single right-angle, and most of the walls needed about 1/16th inch of caulking to fill gaps...dang it -- wood don't stretch!
So there's my tacky coops!
