total cost of coop and run - $51

Dog house relatives were trying to get rid of -$0 very well built with double wall and insulation, entrance goes around a wall to the "sleeping" area to cut down on drafts

Roost: re-purposed land scaping timbers on cinder blocks that were in the yard 16 years ago when I moved in - 0$

Frame for run: PVC pipe - $20

cover for run - chicken wire and bird netting -held to the PVC by zip ties - $31

Awning to cover food - left over plywood from our chicken tractor project

Now I have to state we are in the suburbs and done' have a big predator problem, our 7 dogs take care of racoons and the cats take care of the mice. Hawks would be a problem, but the bird netting solves that issue.
