I feel so much better! I doubt I can beat tent city but I'm sure I'm in the top 10 *Side note a dog did get in before I finished the run.

Yes that's a couch cornering off where I still need to clean for a larger coop

Sliding plexi glass for light and easy access to the run

Run apx 75 sq feet with room for improvement
Total cost $25.00 for chicken wire
and about 10 hours of manual labor on a 100 year old grainery. Still got alot of cleaning to do(and a little weatherproofing but when I'm done it will be 14 ft X 8ft + the run and hold about 30 chickens pretty comfortably.

off the portch(like my old vinyl table cloth. it is prettier than the blue tarp.)

that window is my kitchen. I wanted the coop up so I could get the eggs from the top roofjust off the portch , but the coop is too darn heavy to get lifted up.

I am lazy and don't like going all the way to the ground 3 x a morning
Also there is legs sticking out under the portch for future expansion of the run under it.

Yay, I made my soccer goal frame run today. Will post pics of it tomorrow.

Got frame new at goodwill couple of yrs ago ($5ish) and used as a goal, but net was all torn from being in the sun (so really free since was used for its original purpose), free chicken wire, had to buy more zip ties and used nearly 80 or so $1.75ish.

Got frame new at goodwill couple of yrs ago ($5ish) and used as a goal, but net was all torn from being in the sun (so really free since was used for its original purpose), free chicken wire, had to buy more zip ties and used nearly 80 or so $1.75ish.

Small (8x3.5) temporary coop made from an old baby changing table and scrap wood. The top opens up (everything is a bit crooked though and it is a chore to open). The latch is secured with a heavy bolt and nut and (of course) cinder blocks. There isn a small pop door on one end (the end with the changing table) that is also hard to open, lol... that makes it more secure right?! We have lots of racoons, bobcats, possums and a few stary cats here and nothing has gotten in so far. It has a 2 ft wire apron also secured with cinder blocks. I was going to bury the apron but haven't had time. We have since screwed on a few scraps of plywood to the sides to give them a little more privacy and protection from rain.
We bought the hardware cloth, screws and washers.

Ok, here are pics of my soccer goal frame run and little dog house coop. (An old battery to make sure they cant get through, and a sewing machine just to be sure the wind doesnt blow the doghouse....guess I could put a rock inside it..hmm)

And it is right beside my driveway in the front yard. My dh never mows that part (how can you forget about it?), so now the chickens can!
(Good thing my neighbors on that side have chickens too! I gave them 3 and they went and bought more from TSC!!)
