Tacky coop & run contest ****Update: It's time to vote!!!!!***

How awesome would it be to have the zip tie company sponsor a tacky coop contest? The grand prize? A life-time supply??? Sounds PERFECT!!! (and how terrible is it that some of these coops are giving me great ideas?) Mwahahahahaha I wasn't sure if the wash-machine coop was a legitimate "this is my coop" post? I thought it was a "check out this coop" post?? Love the tar paper and the kid paintings on the coop

That was Yet another "hey that gives me an idea" example!!!! Got a birthday party to plan soon, and the green dog house is looking rather.... green. LOL could use some brightening up!!!

That is so funny! If you look at the top of the run in my pics, you can see the zip ties hanging there

DH said "well I got the run covered, I used $10 worth of zip ties, but its done!!"

Show us pics!!

Here's my tacky coops. One is the tractor I made with a dogloo on top and the other is back end of the our greenhouse where we wintered over the banty boys.

Can I play too? lol Here is our newest coop to be, we have been working on it on the weekends and when money will allow (not to often) it will be attached to the run area that is beside it after we make the fencing taller and cover it.

when we started it:(dh and oldest DD painting)

Thank you!! So far even in temps in the 90's it stays REALLY cool in there!! We keep windows open in there for the broody and she is staying nice and cool!

Some of these trailers are insulated and all u need is a good breeze o stay cool inside

mine would loose the axles all together and just sit on cinder blocks

3rd place
2nd place
1st place

Honorable Mention:

I ran out and took pictures of my tractors before I finished reading, I'm so sad I didn't get them on here before it closed. Can I post them anyway?

I just have to...you can exclude me from voting though.

I hope I have posting photos figured out.
My Big Coop House awaiting remodeling:

My Baby Tractor, currently housing Seramas my daughter couldn't wait for. They actually have a real coop house under constrcution that will be a House Beautiful coop because hubby actually agreed to build it. Then I will put my babies in this one. The hay string above the food bowl is to keep the speckled Serama hen from sitting in the food bowl and pecking the others for coming close. I actually have to tighten it twice a day.

My Piece de Resistence:

Rooster Tractor for BAD rooster that wouldn't quit climbing the fence into the hen house and roughing up the girls. This took days in the sun to make, and was entirely free.

Rear View First because it has the lovely piece of truck frame in it:

Other views from the side and the door view (made of sticks and wire too)

My husband would absolutely cut my head off if he was computer savvy enough to catch me posting these.

I love love love this thread and I wish it would go on forever. I'm actually jealous of some of these tacky coops.

And, my zip ties don't work as good as the plastic hay string, farmers duct tape, lol. I use it for soooo much stuff.
