We were looking for tadpoles, and got two of these well...things? I thought they were tadpoles at first, but when I looked closer they looked more fish like than tadpoles...Does anyone know what they are, and if so, what to feed them? Please help! Thank you.

There are now feed for tiny fish fry. Not sure if it will be easy to find in your area.. try a shop that specializes in fish.. even if it specializes in salt water, ask them about feeding fish fry.

I think brine shrimp eggs and larva are common live feed for fry. But aquarium keeping has vastly improved since I last had fish..

If they accept very finely ground up fish flakes, I suppose that can do for now..?

Good luck and it would be fun for you if they survive and grow!

If you found them in a muddy puddle by the shore It could be a hardy kind of minnow such as a bluntnosed minnow or a fathead minnow. Did you find them in fresh, salt, or brackish water, that would change the possible types a lot. Baby brine shrimp or Daphnia would work for food. Crushed flake food would work when the fry is a little bigger, that's if it will eat the crushed flakes.
