Tags are working for me. Time zones maybe?

It's possible the user added the tag after they posted, in which case you wouldn't have received the tag since tags don't work after a post has been edited.

Thank you both, that might be the case.

Tags added in an edit will not give that person an alert IF they actually have the alert turned on for tags.
Some people do not like alerts at all.
