23 weeks old. Has been laying for about 4 weeks. Eats layer food has oyster shell available. Free ranges too. Late today was laying down alone a lot. Tail down. Checked her all over no wounds. Vent clean. Put her in coop on roost with a clean white poop board under her. Seen a small amount of what looked like yellow yoke and clear egg. Got her set up alone and 2 hours later it's dark so when I checked her there was a large pile of squishy poop and a soft shell egg.
I have had a few soft shells that's when I started the oyster shell.
Should I be doing something else? Here's picture of poop.

I think your feeding situation is fine.

Her poo doesn't appear to have worms or blood in it, so that's a good sign :celebrate

Other things:
-If she's molting, she would be x2 stressed with egg laying AND a molt which is normal
-Is it possible that she picked up/ ate a toxic object while free ranging (metal, plastic, paper etc.)

Just monitor it. If the poo gets worse/ continues, check for coccidiosis.

The egg part seems normal for a somewhat- new layer. If the odd-eggs continue, check out this article about egg problems (not my article)

Hope this helps!

Thank you!!

The tail down position is not normal. A new layer might lay a soft or shell-less egg, but it sounds like she might be experiencing a reproductive disorder or infection. I would give some calcium or Tums with some vitamin D3 for a few days. Are they eating a layer feed? I would also insert a clean finger into her vent to feel for a stuck egg.

UPDATE!!
I kept her separate over night. She roosted. Then this am got up drank and ate a little..then got in nest box. Took awhile but she layed an hard shelled egg. She is now up and hanging out the the others.
Feeling relieved but will keep an eye on her today.
