Hello all! I have been reading threads and finally joined to see if someone could help me with an answer. I have a two month old hen (supposed to be a white faced Spanish but I think she is really a Black Australorp) who has a down tail. She seems too young to be egg bound. I am treating for parasites now. She is energetic, eating, drinking, hard to catch but when I do hold her, she doesn't seem to mind being held. I don't see anything odd under her tail feathers. I am wondering if it is possible that another chicken or rooster jumped on her and broke her little tail bone.Thoughts? I have not called my vet yet because she acts fine in every other way. thanks!!

yes it is. She can run, hop up onto the coop roof and everything else the others do. I have put B vitamins in the water she drinks from and probiotics too. I just began that on Saturday.

I feel like if she otherwise acts normal its okay, see if it lifts in a few days, and post if she shows anymore symptoms
