I have some updated pics of my Orloff who is now roughly 18 weeks old. I know they can be difficult to sex but I’m still going crazy not knowing. Ive been told by a bunch of folks that Winnie appears to be a pullet but she’s changed so much in the last few weeks and now I’m not so sure. Would y’all be so kind as to look over this onslaught of photos and give me your opinions on gender please? Thanks in advance!

Wow, cute bird!
I lean towards Hen.
Almost looks like Roo saddle feathers are growing but they're more rounded at tips as a Hen, instead of pointed tips like a Roo. The face looks like a Hen, no red cone or wattles.

Breed...so it's an Orloff? OK I found pics of Orloffs, wow, so cute!

At 1st I thought perhaps some Speckled Sussex with the feather colors, Wyandotte & Ameracauna? The shape of face & neck feathers reminds me of my Ameracaunas, but the cone reminds me of my Wyandotte hens.

Whatever he or she is, I love the feathers, very attractive bird. Looks like a sweet personality, too. 😍

Here's 2 pics of my Ameracaunas, a Roo & hens & some Wyandotte hens to compare. I'm no expert, I am just comparing to my chickens, I can be way off wrong & there can be so many breed mixtures, we may never know.

I don't have Speckled Sussex...yet anyway Lol, here's a pic I found.

I found 2 pics of Orloffs, a Hen & Roo.
Yours resembles the Hen more.

I think pullet. Just because I do not see sharp, thin, male saddles and because pullets can have weird tails at times.

That’s a relief to hear! Although I’m so attached at this point I wouldn’t care if she ended up being a he. She was the reason for my crash course on chicken tending a few months ago seeing as how she wandered into my backyard and decided to adopt me. Lol

Oh I also forgot to mention that recently when I go to pick her up, she squats down. I read that they do that as a form of submission but since I’m still learning and don’t know these things, do young roosters ever do that? I was taking it as a sure sign Winnie is a pullet but then I started wondering if cockerels do it too sometimes??

I have not had a cockerel or rooster squat. So not sure on that, but I have had tons of pullets and hens squat.

That's Hen behavior.

My Roos don't squat, they try to jump on my arm or back then proceed to "do the twist" 😆
