"Lilith! NO!" I cried, falling, trying to get up, but my wings were frozen.
I was a mess.
I flapped and flapped.
"Augh!"
A gust of wind brought my feathers upwards. I little bit of wind to help you, young 'un... Said the voice.
It began to warm up... And a little bit of heat to melt the frozen feathers...
And my wings tilted upwards, the breeze at my back. And now, you're the first ever chicken to glide...
I rose higher, thanks to the wind. I was high, above the trees.
Suddenly, the shore appeared below me. I saw a small figure there.
"Thank you, wind and heat. You may depart." I said, then the cold and the stillness of the air returned. I was able to get down.
"Sage?" She asked, looking at the creek.
"It's me." I said. I ran, but she ran to the bank.
"Lilith! Help!" There was another golden one. Another gold rooster, caught in the current.
"No, Lilith! I'm Sage!" I ran to her.
"No, you're not! That's Sage!" She jumped in the creek for the other Sage. I jumped in after her.
"No! It's not him! It's me! I yelled. "I'll tell you anything about you! I know everything about you!" I gently pulled her away from the waterfall.
"When did my coop burn down?" She asked, over the roar of the waterfall.
"When we were 8 months old!" I yelled, crying now.
"WR--wait... you are Sage..." She looked at me. "You've got a broken beak, it is you!" She cried. "We've got to get up there!"
"No. It doesn't matter. We're going to die. At least I'll die, knowing that you are with me. I'll be looking for you." I said. Unfearful. Unafraid.
"You're a soldier, fighting in a battle, looking for freedom again. You're not going to give up just yet!"

"Lilith! I'm okay with this!"
"But I'm not!" She struggled herself to the edge. I followed, despite the fact I was okay with losing my life. I was just going to have to face more sadness if I lived.
Her claws slipped off the shore.
"Lilith!" I hooked one talon on her leg.
"I thought you were okay with this!" She yelled.
"I'm okay with losing my life! I'm not okay with you loosing yours." I said, over the roar of the waterfall.
"Well, you're gonna have to lose your life!" Sharp talons ripped into my skin.
"What?" I spun. It was the other Sage. He got Lilith up onto the bank and grabbed me by my throat, and the next thing I knew I had been tossed over the edge.
"What the racdrops are you doing???!!!" Lilith screeched.
"He's not Sage."
"Bullshark, you DEMON!" Lilith gave a war screech. "I should toss YOU over the edge. No... you know what would be better?" I saw a hawk close in on them. She hooked him by the throat and tossed him into the hawks open beak.
I was falling, falling.
All went black.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I opened my eyes.
I was in a total different place.
I could hear Lilith's voice, softly singing over my body. You're a soldier now... fighting in a battle... to be free once more... that's worth fighting for...
A hummingbird hovered beside me. I was looking at my body, in a whole other position.
"You can't go back." Said the hummingbird.
"You mean...?"
"Yes." The hummingbird said.
"Were you the voice in my head?"
"Yes."
Then, that entire world went black.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I could hear Lilith's crying.
"Lilith...?" I weakly said.
"Sage?" She replied.
"I've got to go now..." I said.
"No! You're not leaving me!" She cried.
"I've got too." I replied.
"You're not crossing paths to them yet!" She began to sob.
I closed my eyes. I'll let you stay for a few years... I heard the hummingbird say. But if you die before I decide to take you, there will be a great price to pay.
