Take a Look - Should I Intervene?

I assume humidity is good as I’ve had to add water to reservoir to keep it full. Ugh. Will definitely get hygrometer for next hatch. Already learned so much. Chick is most definitely active in there. Think I’ll say a prayer and get some rest. Thank you for your time - really appreciate your knowledge. Will update tomorrow

Get some rest. Hopefully in the morning you will have a fully butt waiting.

4 are out - including the low pip! They’re crashing around bator like little fluffy weebles! Pips on a bunch more. Hope there’s room in there for all of them. May end up having to open to take some out later...

Yay glad he made it on his own. After they are dry it’s okay to open quickly and take them out so they don’t play soccer with your other eggs.

That's wonderful!
I know that first time watching them pip it seemed like it took a long while to see the first hatch out. If you intend as some point to intervene in an egg that's hatching please watch a few youtube videos first. I like this video here: (its not the best video ever but still)
it shows very up close pictures, the person gives a decent pretty accurate explanation, and the chick being helped was because it was shrink wrapped (not a malformed chick that never would have hatched on its own). There are several things to look out for that you need to know about first or you will do more harm than good. This was my first year of hatching eggs and it has been a learning experience with each batch. I have not had any issues with shrink wrapped chicks (keep my humidity at 75-85 for hatching). Of the ones I have 'helped' only a couple actually were healthy and survived and if I left them alone most likely would have hatched on their own. The prudent wisdom of let nature take its course really is the best course when incubating chicks.
Though I find it hard, to take my own advice. :old :hugs

Thanks for the link. Did a lot of reading last night - including threads here on assisting. I watched the questionable egg until almost 3 this morning and felt comfortable it would make it out. It was really rocking and poking away. Will post a couple pics once I move them into brooder. You guys are all so helpful here - I usually just lurk
