Awesome news! Is it true that sex-links have a shorter lifespan?
Not all. They can be prone to reproductive cancers, and other reproductive problems due to their higher egg production. There are members with older sex links.

3, 4, and 6 look just like my red star pullets.
They are about 12 weeks now. (The individual photos)
And they are the two chicks farthest to the left hand side in the baby chick photo. 😏

Cuties! Although I will say #4 was sold to me as a RIR and looked much different from the others! 3 and 6 were totally yellow up until the past few weeks, much to my confusion :p

I see all pullets as well!! Im pretty sure #2 is an australorp. No feathers on her feet. My australorp girls are my biggest hens with the biggest combs and wattle and they are very red
Did they develop their combs and wattles early? I have a 7 week old chick who I am worried might be a roo. "Her" comb is slightly bigger than her sister's and is a darker color, not actually red but dusky. She has two flat red patches under her chin. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Do you have a picture of her?
