Take away the water to produce bigger eggs?

that's the best one yet...and it says it all! Don't let someone make you kill your chickens..be for real now.

Actually, I've noticed that my eggs get smaller if the boys don't keep enough water in the coop and they have to forage for it out of the dog's bucket or wherever they can get it. Plenty of water available always equals bigger eggs around these parts.

Any creature does better or produces better with plenty of available water.

Dehydration slows down and stops laying, a situation that can persist for a long period even after water becomes available again. As everyone else here has commented, don't do it!

I wonder why did this person tell you this. You chickens will die if you take away their water for 1 week. From here on out, don't listen to that person ever again. I have never heard such foolishness before.

OMG! That would be horrible and very sad. My 7 hens drink loads of water a day, I can't even bear to think of someone being that cruel.

Stupidity, no living thing can go without water, like someone else said I hope this person does not have any animals.

I have 40 hens of various ages, I keep 3, 1 gallon waterers topped up at all times, and they go through about 6 gallon a day.

Don't listen to this person.
