I mix confectioners sugar and borax 1:1, leave it dry. fill bottle caps on dry days and leave them around, the ants will bring the borax to the queen thinking it is sugar. Queen dead, colony gone. Guaranteed results

Use tonic water!! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W5X9WS5How can I get rid of an ant hill?? Since it has gotten warmer out I have noticed I have an ant hill forming. Its been progressively getting worse each day. The ants are near my chickens and ducks runs. I tried putting down DE. I waited for a nice warm day with no expectations of rain all week. It's almost like the DE isn't phasing them. I don't want to use anything that could potentially hurt or kill my chickens/ducks. That was why I got the food grade DE. Everything else I see on the market shouldn't be used around or ingested by animals. Any recommendations for something safe and effective to use is greatly appreciated![]()
Yeah, I think I killed a couple of hens with DE. I thought all DE was the same but it is not. I was using a non-food grade DE. I don't use DE at all anymore.DE isn't effective and is harmful for you and your birds to breathe.
We always used the borax baits in a safe place or grits.
It might but you just need to put it where they can't reach it.Yeah, I think I killed a couple of hens with DE. I thought all DE was the same but it is not. I was using a non-food grade DE. I don't use DE at all anymore.
Question: Will Borax hurt chickens?
I use Borax for ants around the farm. I have avoided using it around the outside of the coop and where they free range because, as you all know, the chickens will peck at anything.
